The Black Business Council of Montgomery County recently published an article that every Black business owner in Montgomery County should read: “Your Business Has a Voice: Why Local Elections Matter More Than Many Black Business Owners Realize.”
The article makes a straightforward but critical point — the decisions that most directly affect your business are not made in Washington. They are made right here at the county level, by the candidates on your local ballot. Who gets county contracts. How permitting works. Whether small business funding programs exist. These outcomes are shaped by who wins local elections.
CERG PAC 2.0 exists for exactly this reason. Our mission is to ensure Black residents and business owners in Montgomery County are engaged, informed, and represented in the political process — because economic empowerment and civic participation go hand in hand.
